About Miss WardMy name is Annette Ward. I grew up in Utah and have live in this beautiful state most of my life. I graduated from Weber State University with a bachelors in Family Studies and went to work as a social worker for 5 years. I decided that my passion was more in working with younger children. So I went back to school and earned a second bachelors in Early Childhood Education from the University of Utah. I worked for 7 years in the Ogden School District teaching kindergarten. I then transferred to the Weber School District. This year is my second year at North Park Elementary. I love it here.
Outside of teaching, I love to tap dance. I started dancing 6 years ago. I also love reading, being outside, and going on adventures. I have traveled all around the world and have no plans to stop. My dogs Simon and Jack are my pride and joy. |
Philosophy on Education |
My goal for my students is to see education as an exciting part of ones life. I want them to see that mistakes are part of learning and they are okay to make. Students need the guidance, support, and love to make learning a positive part of their life. As an educator, I plan to teach my students to not be afraid to take risks. Education is a life long process. We start when we are infants and it never stops till we pass.
In my classroom we will explore, ask questions, and get other insights from our classmates. Learning is a social experience. In kindergarten we will learn as a community with our class as we learn about the world around us and how it works. It is important to remember that each student is different in how they act, look, and learn. I make sure all my students get the services they need to ensure they get the best education they can in kindergarten. |
